The Virginia Tech Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing kicks off the year's Speakeasy Series featuring a Ruth Ellen Kocher Poetry Reading and Book Signing on Friday, September 22, 2017 in Shanks Hall room 370/380 on the campus of Virginia Tech.
Ruth Ellen Kocher is a professor of English at the University of Colorado at Boulder, and author of many books of poems including Third Voice, Endling in Planes, and domina Un/blued (winner of the 2014 PEN/Open Book Award).
Her poems have appeared in anthologies including Angles of Ascent: A Norton Anthology of Contemporary African American Poets, Black Nature, and New Bones: Contemporary Black Writing in America.
Admission is free and open to the public.
