Get out those tie-dyes and be prepared to experience the legendary music of The Grateful Dead in the beautiful surroundings of the natural outdoor amphitheater at Chantilly Farm.

Cosmic Charlie was born in the musical Mecca of Athens, Georgia. From its summer 1999 inception, the band has been swiftly cementing its reputation as a band that puts a unique and personal twist on the Grateful Dead catalogue, a Dead cover band for folks that are ambivalent about Dead cover bands.

Rather than mimicking the Dead exactly, Cosmic Charlie chooses to tap into the Dead's energy and style as a foundation on which to build. The result is healthy balance of creativity and tradition, and both the band and its audience are taken to that familiar edge with the sense that, music is actually being made here tonight.

Moving and shaking even the most skeptical of Deadheads, Cosmic Charlie storms into a town and plays with an energy that eludes other bands, an energy that often eluded the Dead themselves. Those precious moments during Dead jams when the synchronicity is there and all is right with the world, these are moments that Cosmic Charlie relishes and feverishly welcomes with open arms. Clearly, Cosmic Charlie's audiences are also eager to arrive at those moments, and together with the band, they have indulged in many memorable evenings.

Cosmic Charlie has performed over 500 shows at theatres, clubs and festivals across the continental USA. From Oregon to Colorado to Ohio to the Carolinas, Cosmic Charlie's unique take on the Dead has garnered the attention of luminaries from the Grateful Dead extended family.

Seph Custer is a musician / songwriter from Boones Mill, Va, offering a fresh look at American and handmade tunes. With many years of experience arranging music for groups in SW Virginia, as well as backing up groups and artists on stage, he's combined his talents to offer a diverse variety of acoustic songs, full-band jams, and intriguing covers.

As well as solo shows, Seph is often joined on stage by Chris "TK" Wimmer (djembe/Drumset) and Alex Young (bass, guitar) for an even larger sonic experience.

Since picking up guitar, he taught himself how to play slide guitar, mandolin, banjo, piano, fiddle, and how to sing. He's performed all of these instruments onstage with Surefire Plan, Crawdawg and Company, Jacob Crawford, David Cannaday, The Souvenirs, bigmama joy, Small Town Renegades, Dave Fason, Carrie Hinkley, The Harwell Grice Band, Shogi, Happie Daze, Forever Now, Filmont Station, and many, many, more

His first solo effort 'Where You Are' was released January 19th, 2016, featuring 3 songs with violinist Laurel Brooke. It has been featured on 101.5 FM The Valley's Music Place, The Roanoke Times, and on various blogs online.
