The Town of Floyd continues A Small Town Summer Event Series with Music & Movies in the Park featuring Hoppie Vaughan & The Ministers of Soul and the movie "Sing" on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at Warren G. Lineberry Memorial Park.

Schedule:
• 6:00 pm: Park open to the public
• 6:00 pm: Hoppie Vaughan & The Ministers of Soul
• 8:45 pm (or gets dark): Movie - Sing

The theme this week will be Music & Movies in the Park with music provided the popular Roanoke-based R&B and soul-singer Hoppie Vaughan & The Ministers of Soul. They will start off the evening with a couple of sets of great covers and original music. Then as soon as the sun sets, we will inflate the movie screen right in front of the stage and show one of this past year’s most loved movies, Sing.

The diversely talented Hoppie Vaughan is all about the soul! He is a blue eyed soul singer, song writer, guitar and bass player. The Ministers of Soul based out of Roanoke, VA perform Classic Soul, R&B, Blues & Funk.

"Sing" is a 2016 animated film rated PG starring the voices of Matthew McConaughey, Reese Witherspoon and Seth MacFarlane.

In a town with no humans, just animals, a koala named Buster Moon realizes he will soon lose his theater if he cannot turn his luck around. He comes up with a plan to host a singing competition, where the winner will receive $100,000. Will this be enough to return his theater to glory?
