Description:
The Malcolm Rosenberg Hillel Center presents the Keynote Speaker at Opening of Salvador Dali Aliyah Suite Exhibition on Monday, March 20, 2017.

In celebration of Jewish Cultural Month at Virginia Tech, the Malcolm Rosenberg Hillel Center will host an exclusive viewing of Salvador Dali’s Aliyah Suite, a set of twenty-five photo-lithographs commissioned by Samuel Shore in 1968 to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the state of Israel.

You are invited to join Hillel at Virginia Tech and the Intercultural Engagement Center as we welcome to our campus David R. Blumenthal, Jay and Leslie Cohen Professor of Judaic Studies at Emory University, proprietor of Aliyah Suite, and the exhibition keynote speaker.

Professor Blumenthal, in a lecture titled "Salvador Dali Aliyah: The Rebirth of Israel" will share his insight into the context of Aliyah Suite's commission and elaborate on the historical events that Dali depicted.

This free event is open to the public.

A reception will follow Professor Blumenthal's lecture, and no RSVP is required.
