The International Street Fair is a popular event held every spring, as downtown Blacksburg transforms into a multicultural marketplace with decorated booths, vendors selling authentic items, cultural dishes, and more.
The objective of International Street Fair is to promote cultural exchange through showcasing the diverse global representation on campus. The Fair offers visitors a look at the variety of nationalities represented on campus, provides international students a chance to share the traditions of their home countries, and celebrates the collaboration between international students, domestic students and the local community.
Prices for food items vary and generally most booths only accept cash so make sure you have cash on hand before heading out if you plan to eat try the international cuisine.
The fair also features live performances of traditional music, dance and martial arts from around the world. The International Street Fair brings thousands of people from surrounding communities to join Virginia Tech in enjoying the diversity of the event.
