Accelerate Blacksburg presents Business Growth from the Bottom Up - Let's Talk About Startups on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at TechPad.

We are kicking off 2017 with a look at Blacksburg startups - who they are, what they do and why they're here in Blacksburg, over the many other options they have for locating their businesses elsewhere. We will find out what challenges they've encountered, or see on the horizon, for growing their businesses in Blacksburg. And, importantly, we'll find out what they each need from the rest of the business community to succeed. As we highlighted last month, our theme for 2017 is that everyone has a role to play in helping businesses take root and grow here. If all of us identify our role and focus on what we can do to help accelerate the growth of new business here in Blacksburg, we all will benefit in the end.

We also will spotlight five of our Cornerstone Sponsors - veteran businesses and business leaders who have stepped up to support our efforts and help foster our movement to Accelerate Blacksburg's business community.

Accelerate Blacksburg is designed for startups, entrepreneurs, small business owners, large business owners, employees, business coaches, mentors, angel and accredited investors, venture capital managers, crowdfunding experts, and people interested in accelerating the development of the business community in Blacksburg, Montgomery County and the New River Valley.

Accelerate Blacksburg will host regular meetups, networking and social events, work shops and other educational programs, and pitch competitions, and will alternate meetings, programs and events between studio2.0 and TechPad, Blacksburg's two premier co-working and startup facilities.
