Description:
Meadowbrook Public Library presents a Documentary Screening of "The Loving Story" on Monday, July 25, 2016.
"The Loving Story", set during the turbulent Civil Rights era, is a documentary about the racially charged criminal trial and heartrending love story of Mildred and Richard Loving. The case eventually reached The Supreme Court, and in 1967 the Court unanimously ruled in favor of the Lovings, a decision that outlawed bans on interracial marriage.
This event is part of the Montgomery-Floyd Regional Library's series of documentaries in July as part of the Adult Summer Reading Program. The films and book focus on the lives and struggles of African Americans in Virginia and Illinois.
