The Montgomery Museum presents a 3-Day Painting Workshop titled "Creating Special Effects in Watercolor" with Robin Poteet starting on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 through Friday, July 22, 2016 at the Christiansburg Presbyterian Church from 9:30 am - 3:00 pm daily.

Do you have a wonderful photo that you’d like to recreate but don’t know how? Bring it to this workshop! A misty morning… reflections in water... a cascading waterfall… whiskers on a cat… falling snow… watercolor is the perfect media for expressing all of these, and more… once you know how!

Robin will conduct numerous, short demos, and lead step-by-step exercises, followed by plenty of one-on-one instruction. The goal is that students paint several small pieces and learn a variety of techniques. Plan to work hard, have lots of fun, and leave with new insight and confidence in your paintings.

Robin Poteet is a full-time artist and watercolor instructor in Salem, VA. Her ongoing classes have a strong following and her workshops are in high demand throughout the mid-atlantic. Her watercolors have won numerous awards and have been featured in national art magazines and books.
