The New River Land Trust's Second Annual Farmfest will be held at the Glade Road Growing farm on Saturday, July 18th.

The New River Land Trust's Second Annual Farmfest is a celebration of land conservation, local farms & food, and music. It will feature live music by the Floorboards, a farm tour, and food and refreshments available for sale (beer & wine, brick oven pizzas, and Homestead Creamery ice cream).

The Farm tour starts at 5:00 pm and music at 6:00 pm.

The Floorboards are an Appalachian roots rock ensemble hailing from the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. The band marries rock & roll and country roots with the sights and sounds of southern mountain towns. They have quickly become a staple in the Southeast, having co-billed with bands such as Trampled By Turtles, Yarn, Toad the Wet Sprocket, Royal Southern Brotherhood, Laura Reed, and performed at venues and festivals in the southeast along side Drive by Truckers, Jackson Brown, Allison Krauss and Union Station.

Participants who bike to the event will receive a voucher for a free ice cream cone. The New River Valley Bike Association will provide a bike valet service free of charge.
