The fifth annual Hokie BugFest will be held on Saturday, October 17th from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm at the Inn at Virginia Tech's Latham Ballroom.
This free festival, sponsored by the VT Department of Entomology and Virginia 4-H, will feature a well-known bug chef from Seattle, a live Bug Zoo, Roachzilla! (giant cockroaches), a spooky Spider's Lair with a large robotic spider, luminescent bugs, a formicarium (ant farm), a pollinators exhibit, and departmental research exhibits. Bug enthusiasts can admire a giant bird-eater tarantula, see a working beehive, enjoy the Alberti Flea Circus, meet the Bo-Ty Dawgs, and enter a bee-dancing contest.
This is a fun and educational event for the entire family.
The Inn is on the edge of the Virginia Tech campus off Price’s Fork Road, close to the 460 Bypass and near downtown Blacksburg, VA. Plenty of parking will be available.
