Description:
The Blacksburg Master Chorale will take the stage at the Moss Arts Center under the direction of Jeffrey Anthony, the organization’s Acting Music Director on Saturday, May 9th.
The Chorale will perform Luigi Cherubini’s “Requiem in C-minor,” and a new work by Anthony entitled "The Turning Time." The inspiration for this world premiere comes from a book of poetry written by Daniel C. Potts, M.D. Dr. Potts’s father, Lester Potts, was the inspiration for the book.
After being diagnosed with Alzheimers Disease, Dr. Potts’s father began painting with watercolors and became an artist. The disease eventually took his life and Potts used the process of writing poetry as an outlet for the grief and emotion of losing a parent.
