The Cameron Fitzwater Memorial Scholarship was established in 2012 in memory of Cameron Fitzwater, a senior at Pulaski County High School. On a rainy Wednesday afternoon, April 4, 2012, Cameron headed to work at Panera Bread after school as he had done so many times before. That day was different. That day changed the lives of many. Cameron known for living his life to its fullest was gone. Cameron was only 18; just two months shy of graduation with plans to attend WVU in the fall.

Cameron lived and loved life to its fullest. He was Captain of the Wrestling Team, Captain of the Math MACC Academic Team, participated in Track, Drama, Choir, Young Life and Boy Scouts where he was an accomplished Eagle Scout. In addition to attending Pulaski County High School, he also attended the Southwest Virginia Governor's School for Math and Science. Cameron's true love was the outdoors. In his free time you could find him kayaking, rock climbing, hiking, swimming, hunting or camping. He is known for his signature smile and his bear hugs to all that entered in his path.

The Cameron Ftzwater Memorial Scholarship awards four (4) PCHS graduating seniors a one-time $1,000 scholarship. The scholarship has awarded $12,000 to date.
