Sharkey's welcomes Buck Nelson to the stage on Friday, February 6, 2015.

Buck Nelson is a four piece modern country band from Pulaski, Virginia. Formed in fall of 2012 with the mindset of trying something new. Something new for the musicians forming the band and something new for music scene where we live. Modern country music is dominating the airwaves with so many artist becoming crossover stars in the world of Top 40 music.

Our initial thought about Buck Nelson was to play the music we enjoy listening to and what we believe the vast majority of our surrounding population enjoys listening to. We had given thought to branching out into a “party” type band that played everything across the board from country to funk however we eventually decided that there are already a lot of bands offering that service and very few offering strictly modern country. Our hopes are to fill a niche that we believe is there for the taking.

Sharkey's On Top is the second floor of Sharkey's in Radford and hosts live music every Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings.
