Description:
The Radford University Art Department presents Meet Bill Wightman: Beyond the Tartan Art Exhibit reception on Monday, January 26, 2015 in Gallery 205 located within Porterfield Hall.

Meet the artist. The Reception is free and open to the public.

Although many of the works in Bill Wightman's Radford University alumna exhibition are intentionally playful, often behind or beyond this sense of play lie other realms of exploration. For example, in the body of work entitled “Careers I’ll Never Have," the images of Wightman as a professional working in a variety of settings explore his self-realized limitations, whether they be aptitude, abilities, resources, etc. The “faked” scenes also intend to address our own instances of fakery when convincing others of our expertise, skills, etc.
