Description:
The Special Olympics Virginia and the Radford City Police Department present the 2015 Highlander Polar Plunge® Celebration at Dudley's Landing within Bisset Park on Saturday, February 28, 2015.

Go ankle deep or all in. Either way, when you brave the New River with your closest friends, you’re helping our athletes discover how cool it feels to be a Special Olympics champion.

The Highlander Polar Plunge® Celebration, hosted by the Radford City Police, has become a unique tradition and is held in conjunction with Radford University's Winter Homecoming, the plunge is open to the entire community including Radford University alumni, RU and Virginia Tech students, youth groups, local residents — anyone that wants to help us raise money to benefit the amazing athletes of Special Olympics Virginia!

Raise a minimum of $50 and you can freeze the day in the icy cold New River.

Schedule:
• 11 am - 12 pm: Registration
• 12:30 pm: Plunge Begins

Fundraising Milestones:
• Fundraising minimum is $50 to Plunge.
• Raise $100 you get a Highlander Polar Plunge T-Shirt.
• Raise $300 you will receive a Polar Plunge Towel!

There will be loads of great prizes for the top individual and team fundraisers.

Costume Competitions: Bring your wackiest costume and add a little style to your icy dip! We will do an individual costume contest and a team themed contest!

Plunge your Prof: Recruit your favorite professor, teacher, coach or administrator into the icy waters of the New River

Anyone can Plunge – young and old! If you are under 18, your parent or guardian must sign your waiver form.

Special Olympics provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.
