Sinkland Farms Pumpkin Festival continues its 22nd year on October 4th and 5th featuring Punkin' Chunkin' from World Champion Team Carbo and will continue through every weekend in October.

Centrifusion and torsion are not what you generally think of when attending the annual Sinkland Farms Pumpkin Festival, but this weekend that’s what you’ll be hearing if you’re on the sidelines watching Team Carbo hurl pumpkins. Their masterful machine, The Onager, travels from Raleigh, NC, for the 4th year. Team Carbo is striving to beat its Sinkland hurl record of 2,797 feet in 2013.

The Pumpkin Festival is known as "a family tradition" and offers many family-friendly attractions for the young and young at heart including hayrides to the pumpkin fields to pick your own "great pumpkin," a brain-twisting corn maze called "The Gobbler", Sinkland's own farmyard animals and fantastic live music on two great stages every weekend afternoon—2 stages, 10 days, 20 shows.

Other attractions, included with admission, feature local arts and crafts on display and sale, roving a capella singing groups and musicians, performances by dance troupes, gymnastic exhibitions and surprise visits by the incredible, 10-foot-tall TECHtron.

The Sinkland Farms Pumpkin Festival has something for everyone! Corn cannons, pumpkin sling shots, hurling pumpkins, horse-trail riding, pony rides, arts & crafts, hot coffee, hot dogs, hot apple cider and more! And 2014 introduces “Jared” the talented performing song entertainer, especially for kids, every weekend afternoon in the Kidz Zone. All on a working farm with a focus on agriculture and conservation education.

Admission includes parking, one hayride and corn maze per person, live music, kidz zone, animal barn and other scheduled entertainment. Some attractions are additional cost.

The Festival welcomes visitors from 10 am to 5 pm on Saturdays, and from 1-5 pm on Sundays. The corn maze is also open after dark Friday-Sunday with tickets available from 5-8 pm nightly.

You will find "best in class" quality pumpkins and squash in many varieties, shapes, sizes and colors in our fields, ready for picking for fall decorating and Halloween lanterns. The 2014 autumn season brings new lower prices for all our pumpkins, there will be no pumpkins picked in the field, priced over $8.00.

We will have some extra large sizes and unique varieties picked with slightly higher prices on the lawn.

Sinkland Farms is located at 3020 Riner Road, just outside of Christiansburg. Take I-81 to Exit 114, travel south on Route 8 towards Riner/Floyd for 2.2 miles. The farm is on the left.
