Live at The Lyric presents singer / songwriter Wanda Jackson in concert on Friday, November 14th at The Lyric Theatre.

Singer, songwriter, pianist and guitarist Wanda Jackson had her first success in the mid-1950s and 1960s as one of the first popular female rockabilly singers and a pioneering rock and roll artist. Known to many as the "Queen of Rock and Roll", the "Queen of Rockabilly" or "First Lady of Rockabilly", Jackson mixes country music with fast-moving rockabilly and was the first female to put "glamor into country music."
With a unique vocal style and upbeat material, Jackson created some of the most influential rock and roll music of the time, often sharing the bill with Elvis Presley, whom she dated briefly and who not only encouraged Jackson to sing rockabilly but also coached her how to play rock n' roll.
A multiple Grammy-nominated artist, Jackson is a member of the Rockabilly Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as well as a variety of Country Music and Gospel Halls and Associations.

In 2010 she was given the Americana Lifetime Achievement Award for performance at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee, presented to her by Jack White, who had produced her 2011 album The Party Ain't Over. Her 31st studio album Unfinished Business (2012) goes back to her rockabilly and country roots and was produced by Lyric favorite Justin Townes Earle.
