Description:
The Jacksonville Center for the Arts offers the class Next Step Blacksmithing which will meet on Saturday and Sunday, April 26-27 from 9 am - 5 pm each day.
Once students have learned the basic skills needed to safely operate a forge, John will take them the next step into the world of faces, flowers, forge welding and more. This class will briefly review safety and maintenance of a forge before plunging into a variety of activities including learning how to make candle holders out of scrap metal, making leaves, simple animal heads and basic flowers.
Students will also get an introduction to forge welding and learning how to make some of the tools to forge with. Students in this class MUST have taken Beginning Blacksmithing or its equivalent.
Minimum Age: 14
