The Jacksonville Center for the Arts offers Watercolors with Tom Jones: The Key to Simplified Watercolor Landscapes on Saturday, June 8th.

Class Description:
Join Tom for during this special one day workshop will teach an easy process of how to create an ward winning landscape watercolor painting using the power of back lighting with a beautiful sunset. His method will also help you to loosen up your painting style to five your paintings that wonderful lost and found look of an impressionist painting.

Tom’s teaching philosophy – It’s not Tom’s goal to change ones painting style, but rather to give them as many new ideas to enhance their current painting styles as possible. Tom’s approach to teaching is to give the student as much information s and many new ideas as he can fit into the schedule and hold nothing back. He believes that workshops are a serious learning place, but at the same time should be fun and entertaining. In his class he gives students as much one-on-one guidance as possible, giving only positive critiques. Tom encourages students to take notes and bring cameras to photograph his teaching aids, paintings and demos. At the end of each class, above all, he wants to make sure the students leave saying “WOW, that was great!”

Bring your own usual watercolor supplies. Tom will have all of his products for sal eat the workshop. However the following supplies will be helpful:

Arches 300lb bright white warecolor paper (one sheet)
Paint – Indigo or Prussian Blue, Lemon Yellow, Permanent Red, Hooker Freen Deep, Cobalt Blue
Watercolor Brushes – 1 ½ inch flat wash, ¾ inch flat, #8 round, #2 liner
Large studio type palette with lid
2 large tissue box
Pencil and eraser
