Description:
The Roanoke - Blacksburg Technology Council (RBTC) hosts the July Tech and Toast entitled "Mindfulness Meditation" with Dr. Read Montague as the speaker. The attendance cost also includes breakfast.

Dr. Montague pioneered the field of computational psychiatry, which joins the latest technological advances with neuroscience, economics, and the behavioral sciences to understand the neural computations involved in human cognition and psychiatric illness. Under Dr. Montague's direction, scientists at the Virginia Tech Carilion Research Institute are unlocking the mysteries of the brain's neural computations to understand decision-making not only in health but also in such psychiatric disorders as depression, dementia, post-traumatic stress disorder, chronic addiction, and autism spectrum disorder.
